NJSC NaftoGaz of Ukraine possesses enough gas to supply all categories of consumers in Ukraine

NJSC NaftoGaz of
Ukraine possesses sufficient amount of gas to supply all the categories of
consumers in Ukraine. Deputy head of NJSC NaftoGaz of Ukraine Board Volodymyr Trikolich announced during a press conference in the House
of Government today.
He informed that
annually his company extracts in Ukraine up to 20 billion cubic metres of gas,
18 bn cu m of which is the gas intended for communal needs of Ukrainian
population, while another 55 bn cu m are bought by the Ukrainian Company from
RosUkrEnergo for industrial needs.
“Firstly, for the whole history of
Ukraine’s independence the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has adopted a unique
decision when compensation between the cost of gas and local tariffs has been
undertaken by the state,” deputy head of NJSC NaftoGaz
of Ukraine reminded.
Volodymyr Trikolich
stressed that the CMU and Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko dared to
do that being well aware that specialists of heat systems and city mayors will
be speculating on gas consumers.
“Despite cheap tariffs, for 18
working days regional gas suppliers have accumulated a debt to the tune of
416.5 million hryvnyas,” Volodymyr Trikolich explained and added that in case gas will be cut
off in the regions regional gas suppliers will be responsible.
